Good evening (at least here), all. It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything. Life has gotten busy here lately. Rest assured that I haven’t forgotten about the site, but a number of other things have taken priority. I’ve been doing my best to streamline my popping-to-internet pipeline, and as part of that process picked up a new camera. This was the first video that we shot on it. I love abusing inflatables with heavy boots (though the pop wasn’t exactly to my liking… one can’t always have perfection), and I found these ski boots for $25 at the local Goodwill.
Just know even if I’m quiet for a bit that I’m still here, still popping, and will be getting videos online when I can.
Here’s installment number two of this year’s birthday series, the obligatory room full of balloons. Lots of popping methods, a good variety of balloons, and a couple of bikers enjoying popping every last balloon They were mostly a mix of Tuftex 17″, Perfect Products 17″, and the 16-17″ punchballs that Oriental Trading sells.
P.S. As for the site update, I’ve put it on hold until after the holidays. Time is too hard to come by this time of year.
It’s that time of the year again, and this year I was actually able to put something somewhat substantial together, after a couple of years off of less-than-spectacular birthday videos. It’s nice to have space (the new house), and help (ArmoredLooner) as well when trying to pull something like this off. Here’s the first installment of an as-yet-to-be-determined part series for this year’s birthday celebration. I’d been wanting to try something like this for a while, and even built the rig a while back. I figured this was as good of a chance as any to test it out.
P.S. I’m working on a new revision of the site that should be more conducive to its format (it will be more of a gallery than a blog format). In doing so, I’ll also be updating to a much more recent version of WordPress (because I’m lazy and still running 2.something). Watch for it sometime in the next few weeks hopefully. Also, don’t worry. All of the current content, comments, user accounts, etc will be migrated to the new site.
P.P.S. A few of you have asked about the inflator rig that I used in the video. Here’s a (crappy) picture: (more…)
Time to clean out the attic. All inflates in this video courtesy of ArmoredLooner, who makes a couple of appearances. Most all of these toys/ads had cardboard or some other annoying feature that makes them less fun to pop the usual way We thought this would be a fun way to dispatch with them, and I think the results were satisfying. See what you think.
P.S. Planning for a big birthday celebration (with videos of course) this year to make up for the lack of anything substantial for the past 2. Watch for something come mid-November
Quick bonus video for you guys. ArmoredLooner decided it would be a good idea when we got up Sunday morning to go to the local Albertson’s and buy out their stock of Lil Blue Whales… and, well… this is what happened.
We hadn’t really planned on making a video, but I had my digital still camera outside, which also takes halfway acceptable video, so we did. The quality isn’t great, and it’s short, but I hope you still enjoy. I think it’s one of the crazier things I’ve done with inflates in my life.
I still want to ride through a huge pile of balloons someday…
Hello again. This one has been quite a while in the making. Ever since I heard that IW.de was making a HUGE version of the Intex Lil’ Blue Whale rider, and at a reasonable price point, I knew I had to have some… to pop I’ve never had a chance to pop anything this big before, let alone a ride-on. I’m also pretty sure this is the first video on the internet of one of these whales getting popped.
I tried a few different things on this video. I’ve got a couple of different camera angles, and I think the editing turned out ok. I’m also wearing some different MX gear at the request of a friend (I also love Fox gear). I left all of the inflation footage in, as I know a lot of you guys enjoy that as much if not more than the popping. There’s also a bonus pop at the end where ArmoredLooner tosses me the chair he’s sitting in to see what will happen (he sat this one out as he’s recovering from back surgery). I might have been a bit worn out by that point and finished it off with a knife… not generally my style, but it got the job done.
As usual, hope you all enjoy
And here’s the promised followup from the video I posted a little over a week ago. Footage from the same session. ArmoredLooner had some Coors football pads that he’d modified to be extra balloon-y, so we figured we’d try them out on a hot day outside in the sun. I think they worked rather well
In a way this video is a new beginning for me. It’s the first video I’ve made since my accident last June. It’s the first video I’ve made outside at my new house. And most importantly, it’s the first video I’ve made since ArmoredLooner moved in with me It also features a new addition to the family, a 1988 Honda TRX350.
I dug through a bin of toys my good friend Thumper sent me over the past couple of years and picked out a handful of victims. There’s a seal, a tire tube (that was my favorite pop), a couple of beach balls… I think I’m forgetting something. There’s a bit of something for everyone in this video. Some good inflation scenes, all different types of popping, and the acoustics outside at this house are AMAZING (plus being outside the camera doesn’t lose the impact of the pop from auto-level-correction).
Hope you all like it. More to come, and soon this time.
I We promise
Hello again. I figure I should try and post something every once in a while so that you guys don’t think that I’ve completely abandoned the site. Here’s some B reel footage from a couple of years back. The camera angles aren’t great and the action is a little slow but, hey… three guys (myself, ArmoredLooner, and a mystery guest ) in full leathers bouncing on and eventually destroying an Intex Orca… what’s not to like? Hopefully I’ll be recovered enough physically to start making some new videos soon (things are going quite well, actually).
And now for the exciting conclusion! The tube pop looks rather violent in the video and I can assure you that it was. I’m very glad that I was wearing my leathers and a helmet.
